FONTE DI FUOCO

Together with the accordionist Jakob Neubauer, the tenore lirico George Frederick Takis performs a program of Italian opera arias and Neapolitan songs. The name of the duo, “Fonte di Fuoco,” means “fountain of fire” and describes the primal and temperamental character of this music as well as the quick blaze of applause when the mobile musicians ignite their repertoire directly among the audience. A second program from cooler northern reaches consists of operetta melodies and witty popular songs from the Twenties and Thirties.
